AMIN C – 400            Treatment for Steam Condensate

 

DESCRIPTION
AND USE 

 

AMIN C – 400 is a neutralising amine based on cyclohexylamine to  correct  the  pH  of  Condensate  systems.  It has a very high absorption  capability  for  CO2,  has  exceptionally good thermal stability,  low  toxicity  and  is completely water-soluble. Very low odor.

AND DOSAGE
REQUIREMENTS 

 

For steam boilers, the area of dosing is dependent on the CO2 present in the steam and will be established by Water Guard to suit the particular circumstances.  

AMIN C – 400 should be diluted with clean water and injected continuously by metering pump.  

SAFETY

 

AMIN C – 400 is alkaline and the concentrated liquor is toxic. Gloves and goggles should be worn. Inhalation of fume should be avoided. Wash splashes on the skin or eyes using clean cold water.

AMIN C – 400 is available in 25 litre and 200 litre containers.

POTENTIAL HAZARDS:
Causes burns. Irritating tp respiratory system.
 
SPILL PROCEDURE:
Contain and collect on to sand or earth. Dispose of in accordance with local authority regulations.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
HANDLING AND STORAGE:
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe vapor.
Keep away from sources of ignition - No Smoking.
Avoid extremes of temperature. Replace cap securely after use. 
Recommended maximum storage limit is 2 years.
 
 FIRST AID:
 
SKIN: Flood affective area immediately with cold slowly running water for at least 10 minutes. Remove any contaminated clothing. Seek  medical attention in severe cases.

 

EYES: Irrigate thoroughly with clean water for at least 15 minutes. Cover affective eye with sterile eyepad if possible. Seek immediate medical attention.
INHALATION: Remove from exposure, rest and keep warm. In  severe cases or where exposure has been great seek medical attention.
INGESTION: Wash out mouth thoroughly and drink plenty of water.
Do NOT induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.
