DESCRIPTION
AND USE

 

ELECTROCLEAN   is  a  non-inflammable  solvent of low toxicity specially  stabilised  so  that in contact with most common metals it    will   not   produce   corrosion,  but care  must  be  taken  with aluminum.    Used  for  cleaning   electric motors, generators and other electric equipment.

ELECTROCLEAN dissolves oil, greases, waxes and bitumen but dose not attack modern insulation lacquers and varnishes.

ELECTROCLEAN is applied by hand wiping with solvent-soaked rags   or  brushes   or by  dipping  the  article in a tank of the cold solvent and/or by spraying or jetting.  

SAFETY

 

ELECTROCLEAN has no flash point and no fire point. It contains a chlorinated hydrocarbon which when exposed to direct heat forms toxic compounds. Smoking should be forbidden whilst using this solvent.   Avoid skin and eye contact.  Avoid breathing the vapor.

 POTENTIAL HAZARDS
 
Harmful if ingested or if fumes inhaled.
When heated it may emit highly toxic and highly 
irritating chloride fumes.
 
HANDLING & STORAGE
 
Do not ingest or inhale vapor.
Avoid extremes of temperature, do not expose to direct heat.
Do not allow water to contaminate product.
Do not store in unvetilated areas.
Store away from strong alkalines.
Do not smoke when handling.
Recommended storage limits - 2 years.
 
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
 
Wear protective overalls, rubber gloves and eye/face 
protection.

SPILL PROCEDURE
 
Limited amounts may be absorbed on dry sand and 
removed at atmosphere to evaporate
Do not discharge directly into riveres or watercourses.
 FIRST AID
 
EYES: Rinse immediately with plenty of water
for at least 10 minutes and seek medical advice.

 
SKIN: Rinse immediately with plenty of soap.

INGESTION: Immediately provoke vomiting.
Give 100ml of liquid paraffin and activated
charcoal. Seek medical advice.
