OXYSCAN 5020 Treatment for Boilers and Closed Circuits

DESCRIPTION |
|
OXYSCAN
5020 is a blend formulation of tannins, alkalis and polymers for
preventing corrosion, scale and organic fouling in steam boiler, hot
water and chilled water systems. OXYSCAN 5020 is specially formulated for waters with a high non-alkaline
hardness, low CO2 and low
pH. OXYSCAN
5020 is particulary recommended where the circuit contains aluminum
or galvanised steel when the galvanising cannot be regarded as
expendable. |

TREATMENT |
|
For
steam boilers OXYSCAN 5020 is dosed so as to maintain the tannin
value and the pH of the boiler water within set limits, usually a
tannin value of 12-16 pH greater than 10. For
closed hot water or chilled water systems OXYSCAN 5020 is normally dosed so as to maintain
the (tannin
index) value
at 12-18 and
the pH to
suit the
materials of
construction; for
ferrous / cuprous, pH
10-11; where
aluminum is
present, pH 8.0-8.5; where galvanising is regarded as
non-expendable , For
tannin value a simple test using reagent in table form is available;
for pH, indicator test papers are suitable. The
initial dose is normally 3 litre/m3. |
