DESCRIPTION
AND USE 

 

SCALE   BAN  400 is based on sodium Hexa metaphosphate and is used for boilers of any pressure to precipitate calcium and magnesium hardness as a phosphate sludge.

REQUIREMENTS

 

SCALE BAN 400 is normally maintained within set limits in the boiler water. The correct treatment level depends on operating conditions such as boilers pressure and on the chemical characteristics of the water employed. The optimum treatment level for any plant will be specified by Water Guard's distributor.

SCALE BAN 400 should be diluted with clean water before use. Injection is normally by metering pump but alternatively a dosage pot may be satisfactory.  

SAFETY

 

SCALE BAN 400 is mildy alkaline. Splashes of concentrated solution should be irrigated using clean, cold water.

POTENTIAL HAZARDS
 
Dust may cause  irrtation of mucous memberanes.
 
HANDLING & STORAGE
 
Avoid ingress of moisture.
Avoid raising dust and prolonged skin contact of solution.
Do not ingest. 
Replace lid securely after use.
Recommended storage limit-2 years.

 

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
 
Wear gloves and eye/face protection.If much dust is
raised a dust mask should be worn.
SPILL PROCEDURE
 
Sweep up spill and dispose of carefully. Flush area to 
drain with plenty of water.
Observe local disposal regulations.
 
 
FIRST AID
EYES: Rinse immediately with plenty of water
If irritation presists seek medical advice.

 

SKIN: Rinse immediately with water.
INGESTION: Wash out mouth thoroughly and drink plenty of water.
